There is a strong focus on Video at the cost of audio on YouTube. Even the major labels are releasing their currently promoted music videos as mono for their top artists.
Many of the video compression turns most audio into 64k mono so Youtubers probably never knew it had potential to produce DVD-like music
So if anyone is curious i...... just listen to this.
The trick is to convert your completed stereo video as an FLV * BEFORE * uploading it to YouTube – NOT any other format.
Of course (hi res) MPEG 4 is usually the best for great Video quality, so that can be used if there if no need for stereo but there is a strong need for high quality video.
Perhaps one day YouTube will fix this void......

BTW: * Miss Universe's websites are: http://stardoms.webs.com/ http://www.voy.com/216244/ not the official one on the blogoscoped profile – if that could be changed

Update:
That video was stereo yesterday – now it sounds like mono.
But that tactic still works. Does Youtube now alter the videos after a day? |
Problem solved:
Just add http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hItnlfJ5u5s&fmt=18
at the end of the video to get the Stereo version at its highest quality...
compare the two videos and see what an amazing audio potential YouTube has:

versus

Is "* Miss Universe" in reality the admin of the two listed official sites, [ http://blogoscoped.com/forum/135757.html] bored beyond belief with shuffling endless videos of half-naked gorgeous female bodies, that s/he * HAS TO* post during the day to some Blogoblog *JUST* to feel alive? ;-))

As of July 21,2008 Converting your video to a low bit rate flv to bypass the youtube encoder and thereby being able to upload stereo video no longer works....sad to say,It will appear and stay mono Youtube knows this trick and now prevents users from using it |
