For how long has Google Finance differentiated between news, blogs and feeds?

I wonder how it's doing this and whether it could use the same techniques to do something similar for the incorrectly-named Google Blog Search. |
I've just realised the learn more link has more info:

It seems this makes it possible to plot your own data against the finance charts (from, e.g. Google Spreadsheets):

this then becomes a very powerfull feature.. |
This is really cool! A couple additions I would like to see with this feature though.
1. You can't use private sheets, they have to be published. So I can't just put my own personal trades or notes in a sheet and see them plotted on the graph without making them public.
2. Would be nice if you could put different types of flags. For example, I'd love to plot all my trades and have buys indicated with green and sells with red. The way it is right now you can't really visualize it, you'd have to click on each one individually to see whether it was a buy or sell. |
