I like this Google Translate tool for websites that allows viewers to translate it into any (supported) language. I thought it might be nice to have for blogoscoepd: http://translate.google.com/translate_tools |
I think this is the kind of feature that should be included in a browser, not in a site. It's easy to drag a bookmarklet to the browser's bookmark bar and translate any web page into your language, assuming that Google Translate supports the language pair. |
Until every browser from IE, Firefox, mobile browsers and more, has it as default so every computer illiterate is aware of the functions, Google Translate tool is a good thing to implement on a website. |
But even if the browser doesn't include it, users can add a bookmarklet or a plug-in that has the feature. Another option is to use the "Translate" link displayed next to search results in Google, Yahoo and other search engines. |
Sure, users can-- but how many users know they can? |
