The logo of this year is much nicer then previous years. Maybe it had something to do with Obama.

In the above Google doodles for MLK day for five years, those for the years 2006, 2007, and 2008 lacked the "™" symbol. Those three were also the ones that lacked the second "o" in "Google". Is that the reason, or is it a coincidence?

May someone make their own doodle that is missing one of the letters of "Google" and use it for their own web site?

The 2008 doodle did have a small yellow mark where the yellow "o" normally is.

Another thing is that when you hover over the logo you will notice the alternate text says "Martin Luther King Jr. Day, by Shepard Fairey / Studio Number One".

A bit of searching reveals that Shepard Fairey is the artist that designed the famous Obama "HOPE" poster.
