Someone posts of their problems with an expired Google Apps domain – expired even though they paid for renewal:

What's in a name? Isn't google apps also accesible through an alternative adres? So what is really the problem? If it is for an intranet you could set up a redirect which works for every workstation.

I really do not see the problem here. If you have a really important domain, you wouldn't have registered it through google.

So who should you register your "really important" domains through, Wouter?

I lost a really important domain that I had registered through Network Solutions, so registering with the big guys doesn't help. Network Solutions were unable to validate my credit card due to an acknowledged failing of their own system, and the best advice they could offer me was to "use another credit card" – but I didn't have another one so I lost the domain name.
