Howdy, y'all. I recall a charity Google mentioned a long time ago, but now I can't find anything about it, and I can't find any archive of Google mentioning it.
What I remember is that right after Google.org came out, one of the first non-profits they talked about was one that adds closed-caption subtitles to videos, in order to promote literacy in cities / countries where there are plenty of people who see televisions on a daily basis, yet are illiterate. Google was supposedly a great match for this, since they had such a huge library of videos, and computer horsepower to recognize words and add captions or something.
Does anyone remember anything about this? Who was this charity, and whatever happened to them? Or am I mistaken about the Google.org connection? |
That's exactly it. Thanks! |
