Richard Stallman of the Free Software Foundation and has written some concerns and recommendations concerning open source Javascript applications such as Google Docs.

The first concern is that the source code that is available is not the original source code, but a derivative that is not reasonable to use for further development. This might have been done to reduce the size of the code.

The second concern is once someone modifies a Javascript application there is no easy way to make it run in the proper context.

He also proposed some possible future remedies.
