Its odd that the new UI they've been randomly testing isn't the default now thats its out of beta. Seems that would have been good timing to debut it and maybe market it a little bit (on the homepage). I've had the new UI show up 3-4 times, but not in the past few days.

I read about this on Techcrunch:
http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/06/05/google-finance-sheds-its-beta-label-three-years-after-launch-still-cant-touch-yahoo/

I'm not so sure it's actually out of BETA yet though. The footer still says "Google Finance Beta available in:" and the help still explains what BETA means: http://www.google.com/support/finance/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=71877

Personally, I think they just used the wrong logo when they updated it. Both with and without BETA exist on the server:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/finance_logo.png

In fact, for most of Google's services new logos, the GIF version doesn't have the BETA label whereas the PNG version does. Here are just a few examples:

http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/docs_logo.png

http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/friend_connect_logo.gif
http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/friend_connect_logo.png

http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/translate_logo.gif
http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logos/translate_logo.png

And here's a comparison of most of the logos I could find:

Isn't going from PNG to GIF when a product leaves beta a bit backwards? Would have thought it would be the other way round :/

True that.

Glad it's out of beta though. Similar to Google Chrome, it's sort of more important that people view it as a final product
