Today here in the Netherlands a new plan was announced to let commercial websites pay for embedding music video's, for example from YouTube. Also you have to buy a license if you have a radio portal, ringtone site, downloadsite etc. The organization responsible for these new rules could even send bills to individual bloggers at home, but this is not a priority. Companies are targeted first. It goes further, a profile on a social network with a embedded music video could also be charged, but here the social network itself could get the bill, IF it all goes through. If a company gets charged they have the chance to remove the video's first.

I was wondering if there are other countries where you have to pay for embedding music video's etc, company or individual. [PersonRank 10]

Some prices, on a yearly basis. You pay the license every year.

6 embedded videos – 130 euro
12 embedded videos – 260 euro
30 embedded videos – 650 euro

Today two plugins are launched to block the webcrawler from Buma/Stemra.

<<That’s why I started developing the Block Buma Crawler WordPress plugin (aka Teezir Blocker). This plugin is capable of keeping computers outside of your WordPress installation, that are blacklisted via this plugin.>>
