Just like Starred Items in Maps, Docs and Reader, Starred Messages in Gmail, and Bookmarks in Web History, we now have Starred Words in Dictionnary http://www.google.com/dictionary/wordlist

Hopefully, one day Google will make its "favorite" features consistent across all its products (idem for shared items) and introduce stars in Wave. They could even add a "favorite items" sections in http://www.google.com/dashboard and Docs (i.e for Chrome OS too).

What could be a usecase for these starred words?

At work, I come across many technical terms and acronyms I define using Google Definitions/Translate.

I'm not familiar with them – sometimes even after having looked them up multiple times, so a wordlist could be of great help. Moreover, I frequently check them on my iPhone and a one-click action to save them in one place would be sweet.

By the way, I still can't get why they don't merge http://www.google.com/search?q=define:consistency, withhttp://www.google.com/dictionary?langpair=en|en&q=consistency.
