Came across this anomalous behavior of YouTube. I'm subscribed to the Digital Inspiration feed (http://www.labnol.org/), and was reading a specific post in my feed reader:
http://www.labnol.org/internet/google-apps-video-ad-for-cloud-computing/12774/
There is a YouTube video in that post, but on trying to play it inline within the feed, I got an error: "This is a private video. If you have been sent this video, please make sure you accept the sender's friend request." But this is an item from an open feed, and I certainly never received any friend requests from the publisher! Check out the error within Google Reader:

But here's the amazing part. Although I can reproduce the video playback error by reading the feed item within two different browsers – Chrome and Firefox – the video plays normally if played directly from the original blog's page.
Anyone else seen such inconsistent behavior with YouTube private videos? Sounds like a bug to me. |
Rohit – That's a mirror clip. |
