But where did you get redirected from? Not google.com (unless you're being redirected by a browser extension rather than by Google).

From https: //www.google.com .

https :// google.com is getting redirected to plain HTTP page & not to HTTS one :)

...and http :// encrypted.google.com is redirected to HTTPS, so it's the subdomain that determines which service you use.

Rohit: I tested with iPhone and https: // google.com is being redirected to http page VIA encrypted . google.com
