For a new site I am developing I decided to add my own black-themed generic Google Custom Search. The main feature is the black background and no advertisements.

The first can use an optional URL parameter specifying a search term. The second is designed for mobile sites and omits the dividing lines between search results.

These are especially good for minimalists and nightowls who prefer not to be blinded by Google's standard white background.
