It won't be native ,sadly,but a port to wine which is windows implement on linux.
Picasa works already pretty well (far from perfect though),while Google Earth is a pain to use because there's no interface(it keeps disappearing)
But that's a great move from Google and i hope more companies will do like them.
This could dramatically help the growing linux community thank to the Google Effect.

sorry, you are calling emulated software a great move? i'd like to have NATIVE apps.

It's far better than no support at all.
You could even ask them to open source it and to give the secrets of pagerank as well.
They're already very supportive of foss through SoC,the foss developpers they hire and the app and librairies they open source (code.google.com)
Additionnaly i've made a typo,GTalk could be actually ported if things go well.
