wow...great idea. I was thinking recently about how I never look for things on blogs (or any site for that matter) through the navigation. I always use search. And also, I hate using any site search so I use the site operator in Google.

I bet a lot of my users do the same. I've been meaning to make the search function a more prominent part of my website, instead of the navigation. This posts ideas have spurred me to make that happen sooner rather than later.

I made the search box prominent on my front page. I'm trying to find a clean way to make it prominent on my inner pages too.

Also, I added a tag cloud using TagCloud.com

So, instead of me worrying about categories, TagCloud creates a way for my users to browse my site based on the 250 most frequent phrases that I use.
