On the little known facts about HTML, you seem to be missing the fact that HTML 1.0 did actually exist (http://www.w3.org/MarkUp/draft-ietf-iiir-html-01.txt)

Many of us older HTML coder know it well. HTML 2.0 did not come up until 1995. At that point, many developers had been coding in HTML 1.0. I, for one, remember coding in HTML 1.0 so check your facts....

I rephrased the post to make my point more clear. What I meant is there was no official, standardized "HTML1.0", and what was already there people called "HTML". Of course I might be wrong, but a little search on Google Groups seems to say the same.
