"Thank you for your interest in Gtalkr. Unfortunately, the Gtalkr instant messaging client is no longer available. The Gtalkr website has been taken down while we pursue new projects as Google employees. Thank you to everyone who tried out, regularly used, and supported Gtalkr. Here's a list of alternate clients to be used to connect to the Google Talk IM service:

Was Gtalkr a small company that Google bought, or some people who had started a porject of their own?
Anyone know where you can get a copy of Gtalkr? |
It was all web based I think (and flash if I remember rightly). But I don't know about the ownership. |
It was/is not owned by Google, as the disclaimer says "This site is not affiliated with Google"

Ok, so have Google just hired all the people who created it then? |
Dan: That is what I conclude from it. It is not 100% clear. Maybe they were Google Emplayees before that made this on the side (not in affiliation with Google) – like some of Mihai's greasemonkey scriots. |
They were not previously Google employees. Before creating Gtalkr they built online and offline IM clients based on jabber/xmpp (including Gush). |
GTalkr is web-based GTalk with flash UI. |
wait, so theyve decided to shut it down because of Gmail talk?! |
I got confirmation from the Gtalkr creators that yes, they were hired by Google *after* they created their tool. |
