"Around the World" is missing because Pitchfork made the rather arbitrary decision to exclude any videos that are part of the "Director's Label Series" of DVDs, which leaves out lots of great videos directed by Michel Gondry (including "Around the World"), Spike Jonze, and Chris Cunningham, |
No direct link to Pitchfork? |
Fixed! I forgot the link. |
Although I think the list very incomplete, I vote for:
Art of Noise: "Close (to the Edit)" 1984 Directed by Zbigniew Rybczynski

Interesting to learn that Michael Gondry is both the directory of Around the World, which I think is great, and the feature film "Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind" which I couldn't bare to see and stopped somewhere half-through. |
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is one of the best movies ever made.
Here's a real list of great videos (with download links included): http://www.ivarhagendoorn.com/personal/musicvideos.html |
I wonder why you didn't like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. This is the movie that changed my opinion about Jim Carrey as an actor. |

I found it to be pretentious and artsy, especially all the unnecessary, clever visual effects and the sci-fi schmaltz story. But hey, you can't argue about taste – one of my friends told me it's one of his favorite movies. Personally I can't watch this kind of film – I didn't even like all the visual cleverness Scorsese did in Bringing out the Dead, and I am a huge fan of Scorsese (not to mention sci-fi/ memory loss/ alternate reality movies). It happens very rarely though that I stop a film half through (one of the last times was "The Rules of Attraction" and "Bully"), as I like movies a lot, anything from Rocky and Bruce Willis to Kubrick and Todd Solondz. |
They missed Prodigy's "Smack My B*tch Up"

Yo La Tengo – "Sugarcube" (page 10) |
