From Techcrunch:

Hitwise did a comaprison of Google video and froogle and saw a huge swing in the amount of web traffic. Techcrunch called it this

Google, which never, ever kills products, just did the equivalent of taking Froogle out back and shooting it in the head.

Amazing what the power of the Google homepage holds. I mentioned the recent Google homepage change to my wife and she said she wasn't to excited. She said she hardly uses Google video but she does use Froogle. I'm the reverse, I use Google video more than Froogle. The only thing that is disappointing to me is I put up a product on base in the understanding that people might find it while trooling around froogle (as oposed to posting on ebay).

This is not only true for Google but for all search tools. I commented on this last night (http://blogoscoped.com/forum/61285.html#id61592). As a search trainer and librarian, those of us who follow search closely (that means anyone who reads PL and GB) we often forget that most people (even a devoted Google user) will click nothing but the search button.

Google.de still has the Froogle link.
