And Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, Google Groups and Technorati all together, by some fly-by-night outfit :-

What does fly-by-night mean in reference to FindForward's meta search?

Ah, sorry Philipp, my feeble attempt at deadpan humour failed to jump either the text or language barriers, or both.

"Fly-by-night" is meant (here, with irony) to imply that FindForward is some ephemeral site, of no account or reputation, which might well disappear at any time.

Which is meant to be funny because it's patently not true, and because I said it *here*. As if an official Google Blog post talked about '... Blogger.com, by some fly-by-night search outfit'.

And that explanation, to throw in another English idiom, is known as flogging a dead horse ;)
