yey! but couldn't some one just go and type someone else's number in? Can't see me using it though. |
yeah.. i think Google should let you call them for free..and not the opposite :/ |
Just blogged about this, I think Google is charging the advertiser for each call. >>but couldn't some one just go and type someone else's number in? When a Googler sees this, the click-to-call service is over...lol |
<<I think Google is charging the advertiser for each call>>
Nope <<Google foots the bill for all calls, both local and long-distance.>> http://www.google.com/help/faq_clicktocall.html |
Google has opened up the ctc to all customers in the US, UK, and Germany now (note the all:)
<quote> Google spokeswoman Erin Fors confirmed Wednesday that the Mountain View, Calif.-based company now lets anyone in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany advertise next to Google search results delivered to cell phones.
The company has been testing cell-phone advertising, on a very limited basis, in these three nations since mid-July. Before that, it began testing mobile ads in Japan late last year. </quote>

The js file for the CTC is found at http://www.google.com/clicktocall/ctc_stub.js, so technicially this is availible worldwide (correct me if I'm wrong) If someone's got some time, could they write up a script to cycle through all the country codes to see if this file has been propogated to more countries than listed (ie. http://www.google.co.jp/clicktocall/ctc_stub.js, http://www.google.de/clicktocall/ctc_stub.js). |
