live search has launched today:
http://www.techdigest.tv/2006/09/microsofts_live.html

(probably out of beta, which im not sure: http://beta.search.live.com/results.aspx?q=google&FORM=BWIR)

is takes ages to load(and its not my internet speed connection) and the search doesnt provide that much of results..(more than Yahoo!, less than Google, and of course the same as MSN)
although its got eunique features.. like Q&A and the tabbing options, i wouldnt replace Google for it..

p.s.- how come theres an MSN logo on the search screen?(youll see it using FF with tabs)

Yep, it's out of Beta.

I liked it better when when you scroll any mount you want and decide the size of the snippets and had an option to search the contents of the page.

They should extended the "Scrapbook" to other aspects.

Image Search is quite now.

Ya I see the MSN Logo too.

Searches so far feel relevant.

It's better than MSN in my opinion, however the Google's the clear winner because of speed.

When did they change the behaviour from what I described to what it currently is ?

I wouldn't say that it is poor. It seems pretty good to me. The only funny thing is the gap in the URL's before the last part. Do a search for just about anything and you will see what I mean.

poor=slow (to my opinion)

and its out of beta, yeah..
but the links still have 'beta' in it:

lol..
really?

i guess its still in beta pahse! (and MS can say whatever they want!)

BTW, pokemo,
does it happen every time youre searching with Live Search?
otherwise its got something to do with your computer.. :/

Interestingly a search for 'search engine' on Live Search produces Google at number 1 and SEO sites for the next page or two.

The same search on MSN doesn't list Google in the first page at all. Top result is an SEO page, then MSN, Yahoo, and more SEO.

Google's first page is all search engines combined with a Wikipedia link.

This is actually a pretty good demonstration on what people mean by 'relevance'. If I search for 'search engine' chances are I want to get back a list of search engines – with the market leader towards the top of the list.

The beta and now the release are really s-l-o-w for me as well.
