I'm not sure if you've posted about this yet, and lately I haven't been posting much, but I found the desktop search plug-in I was looking for. http://www.bytegems.com/google-desktop-search.shtml integrates Google Desktop Search with Windows Explorer, replacing the built-in Windows File Search. It could stand to be a bit nicer looking, but it's what I have been looking for.
