Amazing Web Race: Final Route Web RiddleNiraj Sanghvi | Tuesday, November 7, 2006 17 years ago • 3,277 views |
For those that enjoyed the original Amazing Web Race riddle, my friend Dave and I have created a new riddle called Amazing Web Race: Final Route.
Even if you haven't played either the original riddle or Sam Davyson's riddle, you will enjoy it if you like puzzles/riddles.
As a small twist, the riddle is going to be released to everyone on 11/11 at 1:11pm Eastern Time (6:11pm GMT), so it really will be a race against the clock to get on the leaderboard (at least to get in a top spot). If you haven't played I recommend checking out the original riddle to get familiar with the format.
The new riddle: http://riddle2.nirajsanghvi.com/
The original riddle: http://riddle.nirajsanghvi.com/
All of this was inspired by Sam Davyson's riddle, and you can find posts about both previous riddles on this forum. Hope you enjoy it! |

I will be there. I got the top spot last time – but I had a considerable headstart.
I look forward to it Niraj. |

Well, we eventually conceded that we started out too difficult, so the original riddle has been reworked a little bit. It's still not easy, but it is possible :)
Sam was a "trusted tester" last time around, haha. This time around we've learned our lessons and it should be a smooth experience.
I forgot to include the image in my original post: http://riddle2.nirajsanghvi.com/awr2_banner.jpg |

Niraj, I never actually got around to trying your riddle – sorry! I bookmarked it and then must've got distracted and forgot about it. I'll have to take a look at it and hopefully take part in the race to get on the leaderboard for the new riddle this Saturday!
Sam – is there no sign of another riddle from you just yet? |
Niraj Sanghvi | 17 years ago # |
No problem, Tony! Hopefully you'll get to try the original out before Saturday. But if you've done some of Sam's riddles, these are in a similar format. |

Not just yet Tony. I have become a student and havent quite got the time to make them – but in the holidays there will be more.
I made one level of a new riddle which you can see via: -- Take the first three digits of the id number of this post. -- Raise the second two digits to the power of ((the-second-two-digits)/98). -- And multiply this by 11. -- Add the first digit back on the front. -- Then take each digit in turn and take the (digit)th letter of my name. -- Shift all of these letters one step to the right (alphabet wise). -- Finally take the 3 digits and put them before the 3 letters. -- That is where you will find the one level. |

Sam, any hints as to the level? |

"Then take each digit in turn and take the (digit)th letter of my name."
hey not fair.. do you mean 3 char (digit) or Full name with white Space= 0 ?
|
Sam Davyson | 17 years ago # |
Ignore whitespace. And no – no hints on the level. |

Sam, does this new level have an answer? I'm sure it does, but I'm struggling again. (And no doubt the answer will come to me once I hit submit like it normally does...) |
Niraj Sanghvi | 17 years ago # |
Tony, it does have an answer, though I recall I didn't get it without hints...
...it was before Sam started the no hints policy :) |
Sam Davyson | 17 years ago # |
Yes there is an answer. But I wouldn't say the level is great. It was only a bit of playing around. At xmas there will be something properly new.
I wonder how hard the AWR:FR will be. Will be fun I am sure :) |

Just a reminder to those that want to play this, the riddle will become live in 20 minutes!
Sam, I'd like to think the riddle is difficult, but not too difficult. Also the style has changed and we liked this one more. We'll see what you guys think of it. |

Damn. I took the wrong path... |
/pd | 17 years ago # |
How does one play ?? I wanna play :)-
Me is started.. and how does one get to the next level ? I see no answer box.
Pls Help!! |

/pd – RTFM ;-)
<< Once you complete a test, replace the last part of the URL with the answer – all answers are lowercase! >>
For example, you start here:
riddle2.nirajsanghvi.com/startfinalr
And when you solve the riddle, you replace "startfinalr" with your answer:
e.g. riddle2.nirajsanghvi.com/myanswer/

WTF is "#1. Stacy Butler " ?? the leader on this race ??-
COn'grats to finishing before I even started!! |
Niraj Sanghvi | 17 years ago # |
Haha, yeah some people got through it very quickly. But plenty of people are still struggling through it. And now that someone has finished, there are hints too! |

Oh, and congrats to Tony for grabbing the #4 spot on the leaderboard: http://riddle2.nirajsanghvi.com/leader.php |
Tony Ruscoe | 17 years ago # |
Yeah, just got there :-) I had to kick myself a few times. I probably would've got there much quicker if I'd been concentrating properly...
Good work, Niraj! |

Yikes – I have been out tonight and I need to have a good nights sleep before I try any riddling.
Congrats to all those that have completed it. I will have a go tomorrow. |
