Wow. That has got to be the worst article I've read in a long time. I'm surprised he didn't include:

While criticizing the pay at Google, he conveniently fails to mention that Google employees get top-notch healthcare, free meals, and an amazingly long list of other benefits. Therefore, Google's compensation is NOTHING like Walmart's AT ALL.
If that moron is an assistant professor, then I weep for the future of academia. I could have written a better article when I was 13.

What a terrible article. There is no mention at all of Google's ability to grow by the strides of innovation inside the US!
Walmart is nothing without its relationship with China, it might as well be regarded as a Chinese company as far as I'm concerned.
Penenberg also missed several key points: 1 company sells products (for money) and the other provides a service (free).
