For some reasons the pop of gmail does not seem to work. I'm only able
to retrieve my mails from 2004 but not from 2005 till now. It's as if
it's ignoring mails from the other years. Would anyone have the same issue? Thank you.

I had a similar error with pop mail of google. I fixed it by deleting mail in my pop folder... *-) not the best method i guess...
