A week ago, JotSpot just announced that they were upgrading to version 2.9 "We have been hard at work migrating to Google’s infrastructure. Because of this, 2.9 will be the last JotSpot version produced before the migration occurs. We look forward to sharing it with you when it is complete."

Can anybody speculate when JotSpot will roll out from Google?

There is speculation the it may be merged with Orkut. I see this as very possible and really smart.

"Girouard [vice president and general manager of Google's enterprise division] also indicated that Google may use the fruits of its acquisitions of Web 2.0 companies such as wiki-builder Jotspot and social-networking site Orkut to build the framework for a collaboration platform."

If so, since Orkut is supposed hosted remotely, apart from Google's other services, will Orkut be forced to shut down for an indefinite period of time to "migrate to Google's infrastructure"?

Or is there already something being prepared on Google's systems that will simply need to have Orkut data transferred over. This could be Niniane's secret project. http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2006/05/brilliant-niniane-wang.html
