Folks – I'm looking for future trends in search engines for my blog and for my book. I'd like some suggestions. What are the most interesting new search engines you've seen? Bonus points for telling us what's interesting about them.

1. searchmash (so uncluttered)
2. Askx (http://www.ask.com/?ax=5) (beautifully clean)
3. Collarity (different approach)

Clusty http://clusty.com – meta-search engine that does a good job at clustering results

Hakia http://hakia.com – it uses NLP for your queries. Sometimes the results are great, very often they're awful.

Kartoo http://www.kartoo.com/ – visual search engine

Google Code Search, not sure if that qualifies:
