Are Yahoo SERPs becoming MORE relevant – or – Is Google getting LESS relevant?????

Like Nathan's article says, Google gained more users than Yahoo. You could express the same figures this way:

Yahoo increased its market share from 100.0% to 130.1% of what Yahoo had last year, an increase of 30.1%.

Google increased its market share from 175.2% to 214.8% of what Yahoo had last year, an increase of 39.6%.

Hmm, that doesn't sound very clear. Let's put it another way: 22.6% of a big thing is bigger than 30.1% of a smaller thing.

Another angle: Google now has a 50.8% share of searches, Yahoo has 23.6%. So, in the future it's mathematically impossible for Google to double their share, but it is possible for Yahoo to do so. It's not a problem to be in Google's position, it's a good thing for them.
