In the reports that the dMarc founders have left, the media has criticized Google Audio's tests because they are selling remnant inventory ads. That is, Google only has access to the lowpaying ad times that aren't sold elsewhere.
Is that so different from what they do online?
Google allows people who couldn't otherwise sell ads to do so. The NYTimes or CNN sells their own ads, not Google.
In essence, isn't Google just selling remnant ads online and proving highly profitable at doing so? |
