Kevin Marks, a familiar face to those of us in the tech blogging world, has left Technorati and gone to Google to work on blog search.

Unranked "blog search" (like Technorati's) is something that just doesn't scale. It's like unranked "homepage search" in say 1995 – just about to become useless because everyone has a "homepage" now. And I don't see a reason why Technorati guys would necessarily be quicker in figuring out how to rank the blogosphere well than other companies.
