I did a search on picasaweb and found that the url it returned included lh in it – anybody know what that stands for?

I belief the codename for PicasaWeb was Lighthouse.

i think i saw the same thing with Docs&Spreadsheets..

hl = language of the interface (it may come from "host language")
You'll see it in all localized Google applications.

Photos are stored at http://lh*.google.com/image/username/
(Replacing * with a Number and username with your username)

I think PWA was designed to be part of a group of services called Lighthouse, but I can't find the post(s) with definate info.
