I heard a radio this morning telling me to "search the web for [act on co2]" to learn more about what they were trying to tell me. (Something to with global warming I think.)
On checking the major search engines, it seems that only Google has the official Department for Transport website at position #1 (for more sponsored links and organic results).
Seems like the UK Goverment assumes that everyone uses Google. Or the person who came up with the script for the advert didn't even know other ones existed! I know it's popular, but that's some assumption to make. Why didn't they just buy a suitable domain name instead?

... and a skillfull SEO might now be able to kidnap that top spot in Google... or use a very skillfully crafted AdSense, if that doesn't work (ad text: "You heard us on the radio! Now visit our website! :)). |
