"Will Google use this acquisition to spice up Google Analytics...?"
Well, don't forget Google Analytics just hired Avinash Kaushik, the analytics guru from Intuit. One drum that Avinash bangs about on his blog is that analytics packages don't need more collection features – instead they need to get better at letting us extract meaning from the numbers so we can make actions.
Trendalyzer fits in with that goal.
See the blog post here: http://analytics.blogspot.com/2007/03/welcome-avinash.html |
For me personally this is good news. I use analytics however honestly, I am a little disappointed with it. Because of this I use Statcounter too. I trust that this acquisition will help improve anayltics. |
They'll probably integrate with measuremap and launch. |
Not exactly relevant, but check out the video of Gapminder's Hans Rosling at TED

I thought it was more like "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful", then tweaking Analytics; though that too shall come. |
