yeah bad title. i'm not sure if this has been discussed yet (was on a weekend trip). on the nav bar (like in gmail) mine recently has started showing Photos and Reader.
Google Gmail Calendar Documents Photos Groups Reader my services ยป
when I hover over Reader, the url (status bar) reads: http://www.google.com/reader?source=cccbar
when I hover over Photos, the url reads: http://picasaweb.google.com/?utm_source=en-cpp-cccbr&utm_medium=cpp&utm_campaign=en
so cccbr/cccbar would be the navbar's name, and en is english obviously. so source... would be a ticker of some sort. so i think what they are doing is trying to find out the stats on who, when, how often, and why people click those links and are personalized.
in retrospect this info isnt very exciting sorry :P |
Yes this has been discussed go back a few pages |
Reader was added to my nav bar recently too and I noticed the "cccbar" source parameter. I've been wondering for a while if this link bar had an official name as nobody seems to know what to call it.
So, it looks like it might be called the "CCC Bar" but what does "ccc" stand for? |
I know it was called "corner bookmarks". |
According to http://googlesworld.wordpress.com/2006/04/14/some-interesting-tid-bits-on-google-calendar/ Google calls these "corner bookmarks", at least if you go by a reference made somewhere in the code... that might explain one of the "C"'s in "CCC" though it doesn't explain all 3! |
(Overlapped with Ionut's comment :)) |
I'd heard that name too but didn't think it was official.
And IMHO "bookmarks" is totally the wrong name for it. I usually decide what I want to bookmark but the decision appears to have been made for me with these! |
I'm guessing that seeing as these are personalised, that one of the Cs might stand for customised. |
ccc= corner content customerized ?
|
Customized corner content, makes sense... |
clu clux clan? and what was that ussr ccc thing? lol... |
