You can also add &output=rss to any News search as well.
For example....
News on the Space Shuttle: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=%22space+shuttle%22&output=rss
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=st.+jude+children%27s+hospital&output=rss

It is not a new feature. They have had this for quite a while. |
Most online new sources offer only badly crippled RSS feeds, so it makes sense now to substitute the much-cleaner GoogleNews versions. See: http://robotwisdom.com/web/gnhacking.html for tips. |
Joseph, the official Google Blog now has the story, and they say it's new: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/08/breaking-story-google-news-feeds.html "We're happy to announce that starting today you'll be able to get Google News results in two feed flavors, Atom and RSS."
Of course, you might confuse this with the half dozen unofficial Google News RSS feeds that have been around "illegally". Either that, or the official Google Blog is lying... |
I'm sorry, I must have been mistaken. How did I get Google News in my I, Google page and GMail feed reader if Google news did not support feeds before now, though? |
I tried plugging a custom Google News feed into Google Personalized Home, and it doesn't seem to work. (I assume because it's dynamically generated and doesn't end in *.xml)
On a side note, the RSS search in Personalized Home is quite powerful and overlooked. |
Joseph, there has been Google Alerts, as well as custom unofficial Google News RSS feeds from third parties. |
