While on my gmail I noticed that I can call people. OK I'll admit it the Google-Live bar was a hoax because of National Joke Day but right now in my xuanjames gmail account I'm seeing this http://aycu26.webshots.com/image/16025/2003713771440122472_rs.jpg NOTE: The image has been edited to exclude personal/sensitive details and to include a minor joke hidden beyond the realms of the inbox tab.
I'm not seeing this in my sign-up account(the one I set up so I can sign up to suspect sites to see if they are safe) or my friends. Can anyone tell me how new this is. I thought it may have been a GM Script I installed but then it should show up on other accounts provided they sign in on FF on my pc right?
Anyway please answer my questions and try to find the joke mentioned below the pic. (And its not the calling feature!) The image is also available at http://picasaweb.google.com/xuanjames/GoogleStuff/photo#5064829536756472626 if the above screenshot does not work or you want to camment on it at PWA. |
I found the answer to my own question on gmail help
<<Why can't I call my contacts from Gmail?
In order to make or receive voice calls using Gmail's chat features, you'll need to also be signed in to the downloadable Google Talk application and have it running in the background.
Once you're signed in to the Google Talk application, you'll see a Call button on your contacts' profile cards. If that Call button is greyed out, your friend isn't signed in to the Google Talk client and isn't available for voice calls.
If you haven't already downloaded Google Talk, you can do so from http://www.google.com/talk.>> |
I found the joke :) But I won't tell... |
Think it's been mentioned before anyway. Guess your using Better Gmail? or a lot of GM scripts :-) Found the joke :-D |
A lot of GM scripts and better Gmail! |
