Chat Update Here: Status Indicator

Now on any page in the blog (in the main navigation) you can see how many people are in the Google Blogoscoped Chat. E.g. “Chat (0)”, “Chat (3)”, and so on. This was a great idea by Juan Fanals.

The Gbot (formerly “Googlebot”) doesn’t count as a room member, though he tries hard to come off as human. He’s always there.

Gmail Time Off

Robert Gale writes:

“I’ve just noticed that Google have forgotten to put their clocks back on Gmail. I did think it was a little strange when I started receiving emails from the future!”

This seems to be happening for the UK (I can’t see it in Germany).

Update: Rob says it’s back to normal now.

Google Halloween Logo

Google put up a special Halloween logo today, and guess what? Halloween.com – the top result when you click on the logo – is down (as usual). By the way, the shadow you can see in the logo is likely Nosferatu’s.

Older Google Halloween logos: 1, 2, 3, 4.

Google Maps and Carmien Sandiego

Brewster Jennings Protects America is a mix between “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego” and Google Maps (using the Google Maps API). You play the role of a government agent, and your mission is to stop a “deadly terror attack” from taking place...

The site is a little slow for me at the moment (could be that’s because it’s slashdotted).
