YouTube Animal Cruelty Video Puts Teen Into Police Custody

Yesterday, a video uploaded to YouTube caused some uproar. I first noticed it linked from Reddit, and it showed what looked like a masked teenager, who shot a brutal video with his friend where he slammed a cat against the shower walls repeatedly and hit it several times. Not too long thereafter on Sunday, the video was deleted from YouTube, but the investigation into who the masked person was continued online from researchers at 4Chan, Reddit and elsewhere. I’m not sure what revealed the final clues but today, there’s news reports coming in that the teenager has been identified and was put into police custody. (The teen has now been released but awaits further proceedings. The cat will stay with a veterinarian until the investigation is over, 7 News says.) [Via Reddit.]
