Using Google Cache to View Document Changes

This is an idea, I don’t know if it’s original or not: you can use the Google Web API to get the Google Cache of a given page. You can then download the current version of the page. You can then compare the two and visually highlight changes from old to new version to see a) what others are doing with the page, or b) if it’s your page, what Google didn’t index so far.
Now all I would need is a server-based tool (preferably PHP) that does the HTML-comparision with visualization. Your help is welcome.
