The new Google look and structure, which was previously tested out on some users only, now went live for all.
The following changes can be seen:
The design is more muted, light and modern.
Product search Froogle making it into the top tabs (unfortunately, Froogle Beta breaks the new interface design and makes it hard to return to other tabs, like Web search).
The Open Directory data of DMOZ.org (the directory tab) has been dumped.
Sponsored links (Google AdWords advertisement to the right-hand side of results) are now more integrated into the overall color scheme.
A new and highly visible “more” link leads to a big-icons Google services overview.
Google News search shows preview thumbnails in results.
Parts of URLs containing search keywords are highlighted.
Update 1: As if Google’s new look wasn’t enough, Google also introduced the new numrange operator as well as Google Web Alerts and Personalized Search.
Update 2: Google comments on redesign.
