LifeHacker for $25,000?

Dan Gillmor quotes AdAge (subscription):

“Sony Consumer Electronics e-Solutions Group is the exclusive sponsor for the launch of LifeHacker (...) The deal, which also includes placements on Gizmodo, Gawker’s earlier gadget title, will cost Sony in the range of $25,000 a month, according to a source close to the deal. The sponsorship runs for about three months.”

Google AdSense Spam?

Google Referral

You can now earn $20 for each customer who signs up for AdWords or AdSense through your site (note the customer must spend at least $20 in AdWords, or earn $75 in AdSense, for you to get the money). All you need to do is apply to become a member of the Google Referral Program. [Thanks Dirson.]

The Great GOOG

“Google reported strong fourth-quarter results after the closing bell today. The Internet-search company posted earnings per share of 78 cents, versus 19 cents in the year-ago period. Analysts polled by Thomson First Call had estimated earnings of 77 cents per share. Revenue for the quarter was $1.03 billion, a record amount for the company, and more than twice that of the year-ago period. In a press release, Google cited increased online-advertising revenue as the main growth driver.”
