New Blogoscoped Chat

There were some problems with the last chat approach because of blocked ports IRC needs. The new chat on the other hand works with a normal web connection within the browser. It’s in cartoon-style, so you can talk face to face – or rather, avatar to avatar. On the technical side, I’m using XMLHTTP; this is the same DHTML approach behind parts of Google Suggest and Google Maps.

Update: There was some strange behavior in Internet Explorer in the new chat room which is fixed now (IE would cache the XMLHTTP chat updates – this is now being prevented). Thanks to all who helped testing.
