Google Desktop Search SDK

Google took the GDS (the Google Desktop Search) out of Beta, and urges developers to write their own plug-ins using their Google Desktop Search API. According to Google, additional enhancements include support for Firefox and Netscape browsers, Thunderbird and Netscape email clients, and new Chinese and Korean language interfaces.
