Searchscapes Manhattan

Searchscapes [Shockwave] by Juliana Yamashita is a very smooth 3D data visualization in the shape of Manhattan. Results are taken from Google by querying for e.g. “721 Broadway” and “New York, NY”. They are then plotted on the corresponding address on the map. Note that you can use the arrow keys to rotate the camera. (This is from 2004, but I don’t think I saw it before.)
