Seigenthaler Prankster Found

John Seigenthaler Sr. has recently been target of a Wikipedia-based prank (see previous post on this). Along with Daniel Brandt of Wikipedia Watch/ Google Watch he traced down the person creating the false Wikipedia entry until the prankster felt forced to give up and confess to Seigenthaler. His name is Brian Chase. He’s 38 years old and thought Wikipedia was a “gag” site, the New York Times reports, and he now voluntarily gave up his job to not cause any harm to his company.

The Seigenthaler/ Wikipedia controversy has its own Wikipedia entry, and as of today, so does Brian Chase – though the latter is likely a counter-prank (the page is currently being considered for deletion).
