Slashdoc

“The ’Net is a waste of time, and that’s exactly what’s right about it.”
– William Gibson

Slashdoc wants all those of your documents which are resting on your computer with no real purpose or exposure – school papers, essays, even random poetry (everything’s OK as long as it’s not spam). In return, they promise to make the content easily searchable. This goes to show there’s data everywhere, including your trash bin!

When you register to upload your own stuff, you can choose from a variety of licenses including Creative Commons, or a license to only display the content on Slashdot. The site (which lacks an “about” page) feels easy to use, albeit it’s a little slow.

So far, there’s an original paper written on Benjamim Franklin, a (cough) paper explaining mortgages terms, a rather extensive but badly formatted brief history of comics and much more. Out of my own trash, I uploaded a “top 10" style list titled “What If There Was No Spam?” that unfortunately only made it to point 4.
