Google Considers Opening German Research Lab

According to Heise, Google plans to open a Research & Development and localization center in Germany. The site will be in the spirits of the existing labs in Zurich and Bangalore. At the moment, there’s only one available job position; the Engineering Center Director, who needs to have 8+ years of experience in leadership roles (plus a software/ internet background).

Some sources say the real inventions and hardcore R&D still only happen in the Googleplex headquarter in California’s Mountain View. Time will tell if the German subsidiary (which will be the second German location, next to Hamburg’s current office) will stem creative products of its own.
