Gary Price Leaves Search Engine Watch

Gary Price is leaving Search Engine Watch. He’ll still be blogging at ResourceShelf and DocuTicker, but other than that he’s now going to be Director of Online Information Resources at Ask Jeeves. Joining SEW for Gary will be Barry Schwartz of Search Engine Roundtable.

Among other things, Gary will help make Ask be “a product that librarians and educators can count on”, as he says, and he’ll also work with their developers on new services, or improvements on existing services.

It’s a bit sad for Search Engine Watch, but I’m sure Gary will enjoy his new position at Ask. Certainly, the Ask cool factor just increased a few levels. If you don’t know Gary, he’s not only the hands-down friendliest and most humble man in cyberspace, he’s also incredibly knowledgeable about the world of online information, on- and offline research, databases, and the web in general. Congrats Gary on your new job and write a guest-post at SEW every once in a while, will you?

More on this at Gary’s, Danny Sullivan’s, and Chris Sherman’s post.
