Google Finance vs Yahoo Finance

Yahoo’s Jeremy Zawodny says Google Finance makes him a bit sad... because he was working on the original Yahoo Finance, which has been stagnating for a long time. Now Google Finance comes along with a bunch of features the Yahoo team talked about for years (like blog integration, or a news event overlay) – with some of them even making it to the prototype stage, but not beyond.

But Jeremy says there’s a light at the end of the tunnel:

“All hope is not lost. Unlike a small number of Google product launches, this one didn’t blow the doors off. It’s no Gmail or Google Maps. Yahoo! Finance isn’t out of the game. But I sure as hell hope this is a wake-up call!”
